Vanaf 2024 is e-invoicing verplicht voor Belgische bedrijven. Wat betekent dit voor u?
Wat is e-invoicing?
E-invoicing staat voor elektronische facturatie: uitgaande en binnenkomende facturen worden digitaal opgemaakt, verzonden en ontvangen. Let op, het gaat hier niet over het opslaan van facturen in pdf-formaat. Volgens de Europese norm moet u namelijk gebruik maken van een gestructureerd UBL/XML-formaat, zodat alle gegevens op een vaste plek zijn terug te vinden. Om een e-invoice te maken of te ontvangen, heeft u bijgevolg een programma nodig dat automatisch uw facturen omzet naar de wettelijk geldige digitale facturen. U kan hiervoor kiezen uit diverse boekhoudprogramma's of facturatie software.
Druk vanuit Europa
De verplichting tot e-invoicing wordt aangestuurd door de Europese Unie, o.a. om de circulatie van zwart geld een halt toe te roepen. Elke lidstaat bepaalt zelf hoe snel en in welke mate ze die verplichting toepassen. Als u als ondernemer internationaal actief bent, is het dan ook belangrijk om op de hoogte te zijn over de situatie in de andere EU-landen. Eén ding is zeker: in België zijn er momenteel nog heel wat onduidelijkheden. Ons land heeft op dit moment enkel een beleidsnota opgemaakt waarin staat dat Belgische bedrijven moeten overschakelen naar e-invoicing vanaf 2024.
Toepassing in België
Afhankelijk van de afzender en de ontvanger is in België in bepaalde gevallen de toepassing van e-invoicing al verplicht. Een overzicht:

Wordt van klanten dan een vast e-mailadres verwacht om al hun e-invoices naartoe te sturen? En wat met consumenten die minder digitaal onderlegd zijn? Of zal er gekozen worden om bepaalde sectoren toch niet te verplichten tot e-invoicing?

Een goede voorbereiding = het halve (administratieve) werk!
Hoewel er zeker nog afstemming nodig is, zal ook in België elektronische facturatie de norm worden. Als ondernemer is het dan ook een slimme zet om alvast uit te zoeken welk facturatieprogramma past bij uw bedrijf. Denk daarbij ook aan de voordelen: u kan facturen verzenden vanuit het programma zelf, u kan terugkerende facturen automatisch laten maken en versturen én u houdt automatisch het overzicht van alle facturen en hun betaalstatus. Kortom, met e-invoicing beschikt u over een geautomatiseerde en efficiënte administratie waardoor u tijd wint voor uw projecten en uw klanten!
